Pizza Hut

Sydney had her first field trip with her class to Pizza Hut last week. It was a lot of fun. They taught her how to wash her hands really well, prepare the frozen dough (everything is frozen!) and add the toppings. She made a pepperoni pizza and it was delicious. She ate everything but the crust. For those of you who know Sydney, that is really good for her. I personally enjoyed the leftovers. The kids also took a tour of the freezer. This was a big highlight of the trip.

McCain?

Yesterday, I took the kids to visit Granny and Papa in Hiawassee, GA for the night. They have an RV and Sydney loves to camp with Granny. This was Mac's first overnight stay in the RV. I left it open to how long we would stay - just in case. He still sleeps in a pack and play. We left Daddy at home. He was supposed to have a guy's weekend, but it ended up getting cancelled. He got to sleep until 9 am! Lucky dog! That was not the case for me!

We arrived in Hiawassee around noon on Friday. After lunch at the meat and three we headed to the RV. By the way, Hiawassee is beautiful. It is a lake town that is nestled in the mountains. Just gorgeous! The kids played and played and played. The campground had a playground and lake. We fed the fish and walked around the campground. About dinnertime, Papa says that he is going to the fish fry at the VFW. For all my friends - VFW stands for Veterans of Foreign War. Papa has wanted to go to this fish fry for a while. Granny is not a fan, so Sydney and I decided to accompany him.

One thing Papa told me is that the average age of Hiawassee residents is 61. This is more believable considering the crowd at the VFW. As we pulled into the parking lot, I thought to myself, 'these people are probably McCain supporters.' We were walking across the ramp to the door when a lady stops Sydney and asks 'do you like McCain?' Sydney just smiled and kept going. I then heard her say, 'kids always like my cane.'

I just had to laugh at myself on that one.

We had a great time. We only stayed one night. It is just not the right time to take Mac RVing. They loved the s'mores! Mac had so much marshmallow and chocolate on his hand that he could not spread his fingers out!

My Little Helper

We are working on organizing our garage and needed some shelving. Bart bought the supplies and Sydney and I painted the shelves. Her daddy taught her how to paint this past weekend. She demonstrated exactly how I should do the edges. She told me that 'daddy is the best teacher, he taught me how to do it.' She worked diligently on these boards. I admire her work ethic.

We were talking about school while she painted. She wakes up every morning wanting to know if she has school that day. I decided to send her three days instead of five this year because it is her last year before big school. I didn't want to miss out on this last year. While we were talking, I told her that if she had school everyday she wouldn't be able to help me paint. She then gave me my biggest compliment. 'This is so much funner than school.' I agree.

First Day of Ballet

We have been waiting patiently for ballet to start up again. Sydney selected her new ballet outfit. This year, she chose purple. She loves the skirt. I do too - I wonder if it comes in my size? The theme of her ballet studio is Angelina Ballerina. Whoever painted the walls did a fantastic job.

She had a great time with her friend, Addison. Addison's sister, Sarah Campbell, is Mac's girlfriend. They have the best time playing while the big girls dance. They love it so much, that I think we will have to go to Target when the Company starts practicing! They do not want to hear us!







This is Sydney's new outfit. She picked it out all by herself. I have to admit she has great style. The funny thing about this picture is Mac. Everyday I pick Mac up at Mother's Morning Out, they tell me that 'he is such a ham!' I couldn't agree more. This picture demonstrates exactly what they are talking about. He ran from all the way across the room screaming 'CHEESE!!!' to get in this picture. It was supposed to be of just Sydney. He screams cheese whenever we pull the camera out. My friends will tell you that he gets that from me. I am not afraid of a camera either. So much for those serene pictures gazing off in the distance.

War Eagle!

This week I promised Sydney a Popsicle picnic. It didn't work out for Friday, so we decided to include Daddy and Mac on Saturday. This is one of Sydney's favorite activities. It actually worked out well because it counted as tailgating before the Auburn game.

The kids dressed in their appropriate Saturday attire. They will be sporting these outfits every Saturday of football season. Bart and I bought Mac his first jersey a couple of weekends ago. He is representing his age ,#1, and Brad Lester's number. I cannot believe how grown he looks in these pictures. Sydney loves to wear her cheerleader uniform as well. While we were watching the game, Sydney asked, 'did we win?' every time Bart got excited. So sweet. She loves it for a little while, and then she asks, 'can we watch one of my shows?'

Weekend fun!

We had a great weekend visiting Bart's family in Alabama. Sydney loved playing with her cousin, Ben. She even passed up a chance to go to the Auburn game. She told me 'it is too hot, she is going to wait until it cools down.' I mean - is she menopausal? We had fun at the game. It is always great to go back to Auburn. I love it there!

Mac had a great time as well. He played and played and played. He thinks he is as big as his sister and cousin.
